Republican Party Collage

Republican Party Collage

Republican Collage Reflection

My collage reflects issues in the election that McCain supports and opposes. It shows how he is for gender and age instead of race. It also shows how he keeps saying change and we just have to listen to him and hope he isnt lying. It also shows how McCain doesnt want to hire 100,000 new teachers. The republican party promises us change but will we ever get it??

Democratic Party Collage

Democratic Party Collage

Democratic Collage Reflection

This collage on the democratic party shows how they propose change. It also shows how they believe that we wont get change from McCain and that we should vote for them. This reveals how Obama is all for race unlike McCain who is all for gender and age. It lso shows how he supports border security and other things. From this collage we can get that the democratic party is almost the exact opposite of the republican party.

Reflection on Political Cartoons

From the first political cartoon i wrote about to the last one i wrote about i believe i have improved. The first cartoon I wrote about i had a lot of mess ups in my writing. I didnt really know how to write a topic sentence and an ending sentence that go together. But by the last one i was writing good. The political cartoons we have done have helped a lot on understanding politics and understanding how to interpret things.

The republican party is being looked down upon and questioned by the democratic party. There are 2 people in this cartoon. One of them is putting up signs on their old shack that say McCain '08. This is exposing that they are wondering about him because he may be lying but they are also supporting him no matter how many houses he owns. Because that's not what really matters. The other person in this cartoon is sitting in a rocking chair and saying "If McCain is such a regular man of the people then how come hes got all them houses and we ain't got but two?" This is saying that if McCain claims to be regular like the rest of us then how come he has a lot more than we do. From this cartoon we can get that no matter who you are, where you live, or how rich or poor you are your opinion counts just as much as the next persons. Wee can also take that it doesn't matter how much money each candidate has. What really matters in the end is what they believe in and what you believe in.

The media is saying that you have to be male to run for president or even help run for president. In this cartoon there is a picture of Obama and under his picture it says "Transformative, Historic chance to bring to Washington." This is saying that since Obama is male he can run the country better than Palin could if she had to step in for McCain. The other part of this cartoonhas Palin's picture except someone drew a mustache on her. Under her picture it says "Transformative, Historic choice to bring change to Washington." This is saying that the media believes that to be president you have to be male. From this cartoon we can take that the media is being very sexist twards Palin. We can also take that it doesnt matter what gender you are dont let it stop you from winning the race.

The presidential candidates are lying to americans just to get the vote. The first thing seen in this cartoon is McCain in a cane that is holding a block that says lies on it. McCain is sayong "this one is to somewhere." This is stating that McCain/Palin are telling so many lies to americans that they dont know where they go anymore. The next thing seen is Obama in the corner saying "quite an infrastructure investment." This is showing that Obama doesnt think lies are a good investment. From this cartoon you ca take that the candidates have told alot of lies and that it isnt safe to believe them.

Th people of America are showing their rights but are also facing challenges. The first thing seen in this cartoon is a man standing in front of his house holding a flag and saying "im not evacuating im planting this flag in the ground to symbolize my Texas Independence and self reliance." This is saying that he can be independent and he doesnt need anyone to tell him what to do. The next thing seen in this cartoon is the same man with a sign saying "HELP! NEED RESCUE!"This is exposing that Americans need guidance and that we should listen to presidential help. From this cartoon we can get that America needs guidance and that we cant always be independent.

The truth is being covered up by so many ls that it never gets the chance to come out. The first thing seen in this cartoon is a man lying in the middle of the road. The shirt he is wearing says the truth on it. This is showing that he represents the truth in the presidential race. The next thing seen is the dialogue bubble over his head that says "I never had a chance McCains bus hit me from the right and Obamas hit me from the left."This is exposing that the presidential candidates are telling a lot of lies and they are trying to keep them coverd. Also, this shows that the truth could never make its way to the voters because everytime it gets close to coming out its pushed back down. In conclusion to this cartoon the candidates are going to end up getting caught in their own lies when the truth does come out.

The candidates are trying to sabatage each other. The first thing seen in this cartoon is a flower with Obamas face on it. This is shwing how Obama is pretty and how he is perefct just like a flower. The next thing seen in this cartoon is an elephant carrying slime and manure. This is showing how the republicans are trying to kill the flower. Or poison it. From this cartoon we can get that the candidates are trying to hurt one anothers chance at winning the campaign.
